Here is a map developed to support a presentation of the various advanced IT tools that could be productively used by social scientist. Their interest therefore goes beyond the field of OT. The map is only a support for presentation intended for people who do have at least minimal exposure to computer tools (browser, IE, Google, etc.). It presents various new directions that one could consider learning in order to take better advantage of the cognitive clutches that such tools can provide. Just checking the tools mentioned would give your a hint onto which one could build to learn on one's own (with the help of Google for instance). Below the maps are some details, including codes of scriptlets. I created a page discussing simple agent modeling . >>> If the pluggin does not download automatically, click here to install it from the publisher's page, and come back here when it is done. For more instructions, see "more on maps".
ScriptletsScriptlets are bits of code that perform fancy web actions. They can be put into a favorite of a navigator, with that favorite be typically visible in the Links bar. In order to install your own, create a favorite at the right location and with the right name. Then, ask for the properties of the favorite (right-click on it), and paste the code below. Once understood how it works, you can now invent your own. The scriptlets below were inspired by the "cooking with Google" scriptlets provided by the excellent ResearchBuzz site. Here are the code for two of my favorites. They leverage the ability to do full search at Amazon.com. You may even be able to just click on them to test, but your browser may issue a security warning to clear before seeing it work.
